Today topic is: What do you do on weekends?
Hi, everyone! I’m Lisa!
I’m really happy you’re here today!
Today, I want to talk about what I do on weekends — Saturday and Sunday — when I’m not busy with work or study.
Weekends are a time for me to rest, do things I enjoy, and prepare for the new week.
So let’s get started!
I usually wake up later on weekends — at about 8 or 9 in the morning — because I want to rest and enjoy some extra sleep.
I slowly get up, open the curtains, and let the sunlight come into my room.
It’s a wonderful way to start the weekend!
Then I make a cup of coffee or green tea.
I take a few minutes to sit by the window and appreciate the view — I listen to birds singing, watch people walk by, or just enjoy the peace.
This is a great moment for me to relax and be calm.
After that, I often go for a walk in the park or meet friends for breakfast at a nearby café.
We talk about our plans for the weekend, take photos together, or just enjoy each other’s company.
Sometimes we go shopping or visit a cinema to watch a new movie.
In the afternoon, I usually clean my room, do laundry, or reorganize my space.
I think it’s a wonderful way to make everything look nice and comfortable.
Sometimes I listen to my favorite songs or read a book — I really enjoy this quiet time.
In the evening, I normally cook dinner with my friends or family.
Sometimes we order food, like pizza, or we make something together, like pasta.
We sit down at the table, talk about our day, and appreciate this moment together.
On Sunday, I usually sleep in a little, do some yoga, or talk to friends on the phone.
I prepare myself for the new week — I check my calendar, make a to-do list, and set goals.
I think it’s a great way to be ready for whatever comes up!
That’s it for today’s episode of the 5-Minute English Podcast.
