Today’s episode is called: Talking About Your Job.
We’ll listen to Lisa and her old university friend Emily, who meet again at a café after a long time.
They talk about their current jobs, what they do every day, and how they feel about work.

Emily: Lisa? Wow, it’s so good to see you! I didn’t expect to run into you here.
Lisa: Emily! What a surprise! I was just grabbing a coffee before heading back to the office. How have you been?
Emily: Pretty good, thanks. Just busy with work, you know how it is. Are you still in marketing?
Lisa: Yes, I am. I’ve been working as a marketing assistant at a tech company for almost two years now.
Emily: Nice! What exactly do you do there?
Lisa: Well, I help manage our social media accounts, write content for the website, and support the team during product launches. Sometimes I even work on creating short videos for our campaigns.
Emily: That sounds creative! Do you like it?
Lisa: Most of the time, yes. The team is great, and I get to learn new things every day.
But it can get stressful, especially when we’re close to a deadline or launching a new product.
Emily: I totally get that. I work in customer service for an online clothing store. I deal with customer emails and help people track their orders or solve delivery problems.
Lisa: Wow, that must be intense. Do you do that in the office?
Emily: Not always. It’s a hybrid role, so I work from home three days a week and go to the office twice a week.
I actually like the flexibility — it saves time and helps with work-life balance.
Lisa: I wish I had that! I work from the office most days, although we’re allowed to work remotely once a week.
Emily: If I had to go in every day, I’d probably spend half my time stuck in traffic!
Lisa (laughs): Exactly! Sometimes I listen to podcasts on the way — actually, this one called “5-Minute English” is great!
Emily (laughs): No way! I’ve heard of it too! Maybe we should start one about our work lives!

That’s it for today’s episode of the 5-Minute English Podcast.
