Today’s topic is:How to order in the coffee shop.
It’s a chilly Wednesday morning. Lisa, a friendly office workerin herlate 20s, walks into herfavorite local coffee shop — Brew & Bean. She’s on her way to work and needs something warm and tasty to start her day. The shop is cozy, with light music
playing, a few customers chatting, and the smell offresh coffee and baked goods in the air. Lisa approaches the counter with a smile.
Barista: Good morning! Welcome to Brew & Bean. What can I get started for you today?
Lisa: Hi, good morning! I’m still deciding, but I think I’ll go with a medium cappuccino.
Barista: Great choice. Would you like any milk alternatives? We have oat milk, almond, and soy.
Lisa: Yes, I’ll take oat milk, please. Oh—and could I get an extra shot of espresso?
Barista: Of course! So a medium oat milk cappuccino with an extra shot. Would you like it hot or iced?
Lisa: Hot, please. And could you add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top?
Barista: You got it. Anything to eat this morning?
Lisa: Yes. I saw those croissants on the display—do you still have the almond ones?
Barista: Yes, we do! Would you like it warmed up?
Lisa: Yes, please. And actually, can I also get a blueberry muffin to go? My co-worker loves them.
Barista: Sure thing. So that’s one hot medium oat milk cappuccino with an extra shot and cinnamon, one warm almond croissantfor here, and one blueberry muffin to go.
Lisa: Perfect. Oh, and could I get a glass of water, too?
Barista: No problem. Still or sparkling?
Lisa: Just still,thanks.
Barista: Alright, yourtotal comes to $13.60. Will you be paying by card?
Lisa: Yes, here you go.
Barista: All set! Your drink and croissant will be out shortly. I’ll pack the muffin for takeaway.
Lisa: Thanks so much!
Barista: My pleasure. Enjoy your breakfast!
